168 Tandy’s Lane Tyagarah
This is the stand out Byron Bay Hot Property for this month. The Cape Retreat is one of the most beautiful properties in the bay. It sits at the end of Tandys Lane, Tyagarah looking over the reserve, Tyagarah Beach and on to Julian Rocks. The stunning 5 bedroom house, pool and studio sits on 55 acres of very private, secluded land only 20 minutes from Byron. It just sold off-market by Ian Daniels of McGraths for $10 million. The other acreages at the end of both Tandys Lane and Grays Lane will also be eyed with interest now.
37 Byron Street, New Brighton
This vacant beachfront acreage has something I mentioned in previous Hot Property posts. What a spectacular 13 acres of prime beachfront land! It is private but close to everything. DA approved already and has great natural rainforest to enjoy as well as cleared flat land to build a house. It was sold in April by Julie-Ann Manahan of Raine & Horne Ocean Shores for $5 million.
58A Paterson Street, Byron Bay
This beautifully designed and presented home is in the popular Byron Grid. This is the area bordered by Marvel St, Paterson St and Ruskin Street. These few blocks have seen constant demand and capital gain over the last few years. 58A is a three bedroom, three bathroom, two-story house that sets a benchmark of good build and design. It was Master Builder of the Year House 2018. Listed for $2,375,000 with Brett McDonald of Harcourts Byron Bay. (BPS declares an interest as the Vendors Advocate)
770 Casuarina Way, Cabarita
The former Casuarina Ocean Health Retreat, which sold for $4.1 million less than two years ago, is back for sale – asking double its last sale price.
This property at was also known as the Cabarita Ocean Health Retreat before it was shut down in 2015 by its then Brisbane family owners. They decided to develop and 18-lot subdivision on 2.5 hectares behind the retreat. The area included the resort’s tennis court and swimming pool.
They listed the property for $6.5 million, with Bruce Williams, the listing agent at the time, saying it was being sold “well below replacement cost”. It went on to sell for $4.1M after sitting idly on the market. It is now back on the market with Raine & Horne Byron Bay’s Sophie Christou for $8-8.8M.
137 Bangalow Road, Byron Bay
This is one for the keen golfer. This well positioned one acre sits over the Byron Bay golf course and looks down a fairway on to the ocean. The house is five bedrooms, a swimming pool, and two sheds. This could be renovated into a magnificent home in a good position. Listed with Jeremy Bennett of Byron Property Sales for $3.4M.
3 Weemala Lane, Federal
This property is a classic dream home for my typical client. A beautifully renovated and presented weatherboard character home. Great location just a few minutes outside of up-and-coming Federal. Five bedrooms, pool, and studio and lots of class. Have a look if you can – getting some press in the property papers. Listed with Helen Huntley Barrett of First National Byron Bay. Maybe a bit high at $2.6-2.8M but buyers are jumping high for this kind of thing.
2E Kalemajere Drive, Suffolk Park
This is an interesting little listing. Somehow this block in Suffolk Park was able to split off its studio into a separate entity. The one bedroom one bathroom one park dwelling on 161 M2 has its own title. There is currently a big demand for single/double accommodation so this one should have plenty of interest – even at the steep price of $695 – 760,000. Listed with Su Reynolds of First National Byron Bay.
17 Brunswick Terrace, Mullumbimby
This three-bedroom, one bathroom house has been raised above flood height. It has had its interior stripped and needs to be refitted. Brunswick Terrace is a good street facing Palm Park and the river. For sale by McGraths agent Ernst Reisch – mobile 0428 842 387. Looking for $795-850,000.
This is a good opportunity for the right buyer. Dunoon is on my list of good buying for First Home buyers or people forced out of the Byron grid. This 949 sqm block includes a three-bedroom house, which is newly renovated and includes the shop. Listed with Sharon McInnes of McGraths Byron.
1 Rocky Point Road, Boulder Beach
Just south of popular Lennox Head is this very intriguing listing. It is completely on its own on a peninsula jutting out into Boulder beach – a popular surfing break. The original home has been renovated into a modern bespoke 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom home. This is one of those never to be repeated locations, which is why it has the price tag of $6,975,000. Listed with Braden Walters from McGraths Ballina.
