This property is in the feature shot heading this article. It was recently sold by Frank Mlikota and Tim Miller from Parkinson’s for $3.8M. Tim Miller is now with Parkinson’s after a long stint with McGrath Byron Bay. Tim is a Byron Bay local and the son of the principal from Millers Real Estate, which I remember well in Bangalow in the 80s. 78 Owenia Way is also of interest as this was where Matt Damon rented over his summer sojourn here earlier in the year.
Seven Mile Beach Road, Broken Head
While we are in this neck of the woods. Last month was the story about Chris Hemsworth’s palatial square box at Broken Head. This month, the next-door property was in the news. Richard Staley is an energy resource multi-millionaire with a keen interest in beachfront property. He just purchased two adjoining beachfront lots in Collaroy, Sydney.
Locally, Mr Staley owns one of the most prestigious properties here in Byron Shire. The 9 hectare, absolute beachfront on Seven Mile Beach Road, Broken Head is almost the neighbour of previously mentioned Chris Hemsworth’s pad under construction. The property was originally owned by Paul Hogan and John Cornell in the 90s. They sold it to the Smorgon family in 2011 for $6.3M. Quite a little enclave happening down there on Seven Mile Beach.
41 Marine Parade, Wategos Beach
This property is expected to make a new Byron Bay record. The 4 bed, 5 Bath, 4 car park property know as “Whale watchers” is expected to reach the $18M plus. Expressions of interest close 23rdof November and the sale is being managed by Liam Annersley of LJ Hooker Byron Bay.

Similar to the above is also available in Byron Bay. Shirley Lane is the quiet lane running to Shirley Street so this is close to town and a walk to the beach. Same size block and the house can be renovated and room for a second house. Just add another million dollars because of it being Byron. Epiq auction, Lennox Head
The Ocean Ridge stage of the “Epiq” subdivision in Lennox Head went to the market on Saturday 27thof October. You may remember this was a pretty stormy and wet day. Not all the blocks went on the block as planned. 21 lots went up on the “open reserve” auction and all of them were sold. The most expensive was $595,000 and the cheapest was $400,000 with a total sale of $10,675,000, being 7% above reserve. The sizes ranged between 600 – 1500 M2. Many of the blocks in this stage had ocean views. The 19 remaining blocks that were held back, plus 12 blocks from a previous stage, will go to auction early in the new year.

This property has been in the same family for 137 years. It is on 21 Ha and has the original farmhouse with 360-degree hinterland views and north facing decks.
